The final beam for the University of Georgia School of Medicine’s medical education and research building was set into place Nov. 25. Turner Construction Company is serving as the project’s general contractor. The 93,000-square-foot building, located on UGA’s Health Sciences campus in Athens, Georgia, will serve as the primary educational building for the School of Medicine. Turner Construction Company joined state leaders to celebrate the groundbreaking of California’s new Southern Regional Emergency Operations Center, a 60,000-square-foot facility designed to enhance coordination and response during major emergencies across Southern California. Commissioned by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and delivered in partnership with the Department of General Services, the new center will serve as a strategic hub supporting response to earthquakes, wildfires, floods and other critical events.
