This fall’s football home opener for the San Diego State University Aztecs kicked off an exciting new era for the California school. The game marked the opening of Snapdragon Stadium – a 35,000-person capacity multi-use venue which, in addition to collegiate football, will host professional and collegiate soccer, NCAA championship games, concerts and events. The stadium is a part of the first phase of development at SDSU Mission Valley, a mixed-use, medium-density, transit-oriented development that will expand the university’s educational, research, entrepreneurial and technology programs. General Contractor Brings Home 2 Awards From 22nd Annual Zero Injury Safety Gala

National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee, Inc. has awarded Barton Malow Company the Bronze Star for logging more than 200,000 safe work hours on the Ultium Cells 2 Battery Plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The company also earned the Certificate of Merit for logging more than 100,000 safe work hours on the Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc. plant in Burns Harbor, Indiana. Construction Industry Remains Constrained, Marcum Index Shows

The Marcum Commercial Construction Index for the third quarter of 2022 reports that the construction industry remains constrained by labor shortages and elevated materials prices, but now also faces a rapidly deteriorating economic outlook and severely elevated borrowing costs. While some construction segments retain momentum, there are signs that broader economic weakness have begun to drag on the industry.
