Gammon Pte. Limited, a subsidiary of Gammon Construction Limited, has been awarded a data center project in Singapore for Global Switch, an owner, operator and developer of large-scale, carrier and cloud neutral, multi-tenanted data centers across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Located in the Woodlands area of Singapore, the data center will comprise a six-story precast structure containing 10 data suites and infrastructure. It will be built to achieve LEED Gold and Green Mark Platinum standards utilizing Building Information Modeling through design development, construction, operation and maintenance. Balfour Beatty Completes £63M Rossall Coastal Defense Scheme
Balfour Beatty has successfully completed the £63-million Rossall coastal defense scheme for Wyre Council in partnership with the Environment Agency. The scheme, located in Lancashire, England, forms part of the largest-single investment in coastal flood defense by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The scheme will protect the town’s tramway, hospital and schools whilst reducing flood risk to 7,500 nearby residential properties through two kilometres of sea defenses. Collaboration, Prefabrication Streamlined Construction of Finland’s New Children’s Hospital
Construction of the New Children’s Hospital at Meilahti, Helsinki has been completed. The project’s main contractor, SRV, has handed over the hospital to its future user, the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, two months ahead of schedule. The original target date for completion was the end of June. The New Children’s Hospital will open in autumn 2018 and will replace the outdated premises of the present Children’s Hospital and Children’s Castle Hospital.
