North Shore University Hospital’s new $560-million, 288,000-square-foot Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion has opened. The tower will complement nationally recognized cardiac, neurosurgery and transplant programs. Skanska USA served as the general contractor on the project. This investment by Northwell Health represents one of the most significant projects of its kind in the New York metro area, with about 40% of all patients at NSUH coming from Queens, while another 5% travel more than 100 miles to seek care. Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Center have selected HKS and Perkins&Will as the integrated design team to collaborate on a new pediatric campus in Dallas to meet the demands of the growing North Texas population. WBG KOMMUNAL GmbH has commissioned STRABAG subsidiary ZÜBLIN to carry out the structural timber construction, as well as the roof and façade works, for the new Martin Behaim Gymnasium in Nuremberg, Germany.
