The joint venture led by Skanska, along with New South Construction, FS360 and Synergy Construction, has been selected to construct five additional gates at the north end of Concourse T at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (Hartsfield-Jackson) in Georgia. In addition to building the gates, the joint venture will also rebuild a major portion of the North Terminal exit road, construct a Delta Air Lines ground support equipment facility and a fire station, as well as oversee relocations to the utilities’ infrastructure. The McDonald’s Flagship-Disney, located in Orlando, Florida, recently completed construction, and aims to become the first net-zero restaurant in the quick-service industry. Under a shed clad in solar panels, the 8,024-square-foot restaurant, built by Southland Construction and designed by Ross Barney Architects, was envisioned and developed in response to the Florida climate. The new 11-story hotel tower at Gila River Hotels & Casinos – Wild Horse Pass, located in Chandler, Arizona, recently topped off. Sundt Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project. The new guest tower is a piece of the property’s $143-million expansion and renovation, and will connect to its existing hotel, doubling guestroom capacity. Marc and Sharon Hagle recently joined officials of Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, for the groundbreaking ceremony of Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall, the new home of Purdue Bands & Orchestras.
