Ground was recently broken on West Marion Community Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit for Ocala Health. Located in Ocala, Florida, the nearly 44,500-square-foot, 36-bed expansion will become the hospital’s first inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit will also feature a gym for physical and occupational therapy, as well as its own dedicated dining area. It is slated for completion in late 2022. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and Gould Turner Group is the architect.
The Pawtucket, Rhode Island School Department has selected Gilbane Building Company to provide construction management at-risk services for the new 93,964-square-foot Henry Winters STEAM Elementary School. Designed by the SLAM Collaborative, the new educational facility will feature three levels and accommodate 643 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. The school will be built on the 2.60-acre site of the old facility, which was demolished in the spring of 2020, and is situated in a thickly settled, urban neighborhood. Lightsource bp has chosen McCarthy Building Companies to serve as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for two utility-scale solar farms in Texas. McCarthy is responsible for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of both facilities: the 163 megawatt Elm Branch Solar Farm located approximately 40 miles south of Dallas in Ennis, Texas and the 153 megawatt Briar Creek Solar Farm located 60 miles south of Dallas in Corsicana, Texas. The reconstruction of the runway at Biggs Army Airfield, located at Fort Bliss on El Paso, Texas’ eastside, has recently been completed by Sundt Construction, Inc., and its joint venture partner MRM Construction Services. The $47-million runway reconstruction project consists of approximately12,000 linear feet of runway replacement and repair, scaling down the runway to better suit modern aircraft. The runway was built in the early 1960s with a wide footprint to accommodate B-52 Bombers. In the reconstruction completed by the team, the runway kept its length but narrowed its width. Open store remodels and construction are complete on new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinics at CVS Pharmacy locations in Leawood, Kansas; Chattanooga, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. The projects included constructing new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinic rooms, waiting room, pharmacy consultation room and a group sales room. Knoebel Construction was the general contractor on the $350,000 project. Each 10,000-square-foot CVS location also was modernized with new finishes, including paint, flooring, millwork, brand signage and shelving.
