Contractors, Engineers Travel to Bolivia to Build Suspension Footbridge

CHALLOMA CHICO, Bolivia – An established partnership between Walsh Construction, Bridges to Prosperity and International Bridge Technologies resulted in the construction of a new 160-foot suspended footbridge for a remote village in Bolivia. Challoma Chico, located in the country’s La Paz region, is a mountainous community home to approximately 450 residents that was becoming separated from essential goods and services by the Rio Yaco River. Eight Walsh volunteers, from engineers to superintendents to surveyors, were part of a project team that traveled to the site and built the suspension bridge in less than two weeks. MYCON General Contractors to Build Woodcreek Church Addition

MCKINNEY, Texas – MYCON General Contractors has been awarded the preconstruction and general contracting services to build a new $6.3-million educational addition for Woodcreek Church in Richardson, Texas. Located on the church’s 27.1-acre property at 3400 E. Renner Road just east of Highway 190, the 28,654-square-foot expansion will be on the south side of the existing facility. Daytona International Speedway Grandstand Wins Construction Project of 2016

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The renovation of the Daytona International Speedway’s grandstand was the most significant construction project of 2016, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. As a result, the project’s contractor, Barton Malow Company, received the association’s Alliant Build America Grand Award, as well as the award for the best utility infrastructure renovation project of the year. Construction Finished on $29M Multipurpose Facility at Prairie View A&M University

HOUSTON, Texas – Linbeck Group, LLC has completed construction of the new Agriculture & Business Multipurpose Classroom Building at Prairie View A&M University in Houston, Texas. At a total cost of $29 million, the 96,000-square-foot building joins together the College of Business and the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences into a centrally located hub of activity at the university, located 45 miles northwest of Houston.
