Knutson Breaks Ground on $14.25M Health and Science Alliance Center

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Knutson Construction has been awarded the role of construction manager for the new Saint Paul College Health and Science Alliance Center project in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The HSAC will include a 39,000-square-foot addition and 5,400-square-foot renovation allowing more space for the growing health and science programs offered by Saint Paul College. The new space will feature a plumbing shop, business/industry and university center classrooms, sim labs and mechanical rooms on the lower and penthouse levels. McCarthy Awarded Wharf 2 at Port of Houston

McCarthy was recently awarded the contract for the $38.7-million upgrade of Wharf 2 at the Port of Houston Authority’s Barbours Cut Terminal located in Morgan’s Point, Texas. Barbours Cut is considered to be one of the premier container handling facilities in the country. The project will upgrade the existing Wharf 2 to support larger wharf cranes that can accommodate post-panamax vessels. Balfour Beatty Awarded $28M Contract for New California Detention Facility

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — The Imperial County Board of Supervisors in California has selected Balfour Beatty Construction to design and build its new $28-million Oren R. Fox Detention Facility. The conditional award of the Design-Build contract was approved by the Imperial County Board of Supervisors on Dec. 8. The two-level project will be built west of the central portion of the existing jail facility located in El Centro, California and will expand inmate capacity by 228 beds. Minnesota United FC Selects Mortenson to Build St. Paul Soccer Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Minnesota United FC recently announced it has selected Mortenson Construction as the construction manager for the team’s planned $120-million, 20,000-seat stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota. SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Level 10 Construction recently announced it has completed a $65-million renovation of the Silevo California Technology Center in Fremont, California, a two-building solar fabrication and R&D facility. Level 10 Construction provided Design-Build services for the 200,000-square-foot project, working with architect M+W Group, Integrated Engineering Services, Inc. and Degenkolb Engineering U.S.A.
