Jennifer Macks Tapped to Expand Gilbane Building Company’s Global Design-Build Capabilities

Jennifer Macks has been promoted to vice president and director of Design-Build at Gilbane Building Company. In this newly created position, she will lead the company’s Design-Build program, working in partnership with project teams across the company. After leading Gilbane’s internal Design-Build initiative for the last two years, Macks and her team have implemented procedures for Design-Build project delivery and begun development of a specialized training curriculum for employees. TDIndustries Contributes to Dallas Skyline with Design-Build Project

As The Link at Uptown luxury office tower in Dallas, Texas draws in tenants to its stunning location, TDIndustries celebrates the completion of the mechanical construction phase of the Design-Build project. Over its three years of planning and construction with the owner and project partners Balfour Beatty, BOKA Powell and Kaizen Development, TD installed all of the HVAC, plumbing and building controls for the project, including three 300 ton chillers on the building’s roof. Thoughtful planning early on influenced design decisions that will save future repair and maintenance costs throughout the life of the building.

Department of State Announces Design-Build Construction Award for U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe

The Department of State has awarded B.L. Harbert International the Design-Build construction contract for the new U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi (Africa). Miller Hull Partnership is the design architect. The new campus, managed by Overseas Buildings Operations, will provide a secure, sustainable and resilient platform for advancing U.S. and Malawi shared interests on democratic, accountable governance; fostering economic growth through the private sector and supporting Malawi’s development, primarily through health and education.

Newark’s Modernized Civic Center Delivered Utilizing Design-Build Model

California’s Newark Civic Center – a 73,240-square-foot Design-Build project delivered by Webcor and its Design-Build partner Perkins&Will – has reached completion. The team built three new buildings, a new public plaza featuring terrace seating and a new parking lot. The new City Hall is modern and inviting and includes a new Council Chambers.
