Royal Holloway, University of London, has appointed Balfour Beatty as preferred bidder for the development of a student village in Egham, Surrey (England). In partnership with Royal Holloway under a 50-year concession contract, Balfour Beatty will design, build, finance and operate, alongside Student Living by Sodexo, a new 1,400-room student village at Rusham Park. In addition, the company will operate the existing 621-bed George Eliot student accommodation complex in London. New Building Advances Engineering Education, Research at Duke

Construction is complete on the 150,000-square-foot Wilkinson Building for the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Skanska USA served as general contractor on the project, which will house new engineering, education, research and entrepreneurship initiatives that bring together departments, faculty and students from across the university. The five-story concrete structure, which expands spaces dedicated to student education and programming in engineering by 50%, was built using Duke stone and Duke-blended face brick. New Educational Facility to Enhance Ongoing Revitalization Efforts in Pawtucket

The Pawtucket, Rhode Island School Department has selected Gilbane Building Company to provide construction management at-risk services for the new 93,964-square-foot Henry Winters STEAM Elementary School. Designed by the SLAM Collaborative, the new educational facility will feature three levels and accommodate 643 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth.
