Following extensive enabling works since the beginning of the year, construction of the UK’s largest entertainment arena in Manchester, England has recently begun, kickstarting a wave of economic activity and job creation across Greater Manchester. Student Village to Provide Expanded Spaces for University of London Growing Student Population

Royal Holloway, University of London, has appointed Balfour Beatty as preferred bidder for the development of a student village in Egham, Surrey (England). In partnership with Royal Holloway under a 50-year concession contract, Balfour Beatty will design, build, finance and operate, alongside Student Living by Sodexo, a new 1,400-room student village at Rusham Park. Esh Construction’s commercial build division has secured a £10-million contract to transform the Hexham Bunker into a 69-bedroom Travelodge and Lidl retail outlet. Delivered on behalf of Union Property Development (Hexham) Ltd., the retail development will be based on land formerly used as a nuclear bunker and will also provide a new 250-space public car park for the town. Construction of the King’s Cross Sports Hall, a community sports center and gym, located at the northeast edge of the 67-acre King’s Cross development, has now completed in London, England.
