Multiplex Moves Forward with University of Glasgow’s Research Hub

Plans for a new £113m University of Glasgow, Scotland research hub have been given the green light by the city council. Multiplex will now proceed with full-scale building work on the scheme, after beginning piling works onsite earlier this month. The 17,000-square-meter research hub, designed by HOK Architects, will be the first building to be constructed on the 14-acre site of the former Western Infirmary, a teaching hospital in the city that closed down in 2015. The Ed. Züblin AG, a subsidiary of the listed European construction group STRABAG SE, was commissioned to plan and implement the new construction of the Bertolt Brecht School in Nuremberg, Germany.
