Scandic Kiruna was recently the first commercial enterprise to open its doors in the new city center located in Kiruna, Sweden, a milestone in the internationally renowned urban transformation that has been ongoing since 2004. The new hotel has 231 rooms on 13 floors and architecture featuring a valley and peak design that echoes the Kebnekaise massif and Lapporten Valley. Completed this summer and located in Texas, the new 27,000-square-foot Dallas County Sheriff’s Academy serves as the main training facility for both sworn peace officers and cadets in the county’s academy. Situated on the southern end of a 12-acre campus, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, Constables and Parkland Hospital System Police Department will all utilize this academy as the training ground for initial and continuing education needs. NGA Breaks Ground on New facility in North St. Louis

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for its new campus in North St. Louis, Missouri, beginning a new chapter for the agency. Golden West Math and Science Building Complete

A new Math and Science Building for Golden West College, located in Huntington Beach, California, has recently been completed. The three-story, 120,516-square-foot building provides 18 wet and dry science laboratories, lecture space, faculty offices and a STEM center. The new building will serve as a creative space for the math, life and physical science departments to foster innovation and invention. The project is designed to exceed LEED Silver standards.
