Ground was recently broken on West Marion Community Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit for Ocala Health. Located in Ocala, Florida, the nearly 44,500-square-foot, 36-bed expansion will become the hospital’s first inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit will also feature a gym for physical and occupational therapy, as well as its own dedicated dining area. It is slated for completion in late 2022. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and Gould Turner Group is the architect.
Construction is complete on Parkland Health & Hospital System’s Moody Center for Breast Health, located on the first floor of the system’s new outpatient clinic building, a freestanding six-floor medical building in Texas. The newly opened 40,000-square-foot clinic provides comprehensive breast care to all Dallas County residents seeking care. The new center is designed to be a warm, welcoming, hopeful environment for patients. Balfour Beatty has been awarded a £32-million contract to build a world-class ophthalmology and orthopedic health facility in Inverness, a city in the Scottish Highlands, on behalf of NHS Highland. The general contractor will construct the 8,305-square-meter National Treatment Centre, including 24 inpatient rooms, five operating theatres, clinics and outpatient departments. In addition, the company will build minor operation and procedure rooms, consulting rooms, a café, children’s play area and office support rooms. Construction has wrapped up on a new eight-story patient tower on the campus of Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers, Arkansas. The $147-million project expands Mercy’s capacity to serve patients in one of the nation’s fastest-growing metro areas. McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. served as the project’s construction manager and general contractor. The 275,000-square-foot new tower has added 68 new patient beds, including 17 neonatal unit beds. A 22,000-square-foot freestanding emergency department has recently been completed by Hoar Construction for Infirmary Health in Saraland, Alabama. The $11.6-million Mobile Infirmary Emergency Saraland features 11 examination rooms, a trauma room, a triage room, an in-house laboratory and connects to the existing imaging department complete with MRI, CT, X-ray and ultrasound equipment. It is the first emergency room in Mobile County located outside the city limits of Mobile. This is the second structure the general contractor has built on the campus.
