PORR to Deliver First Phase of US Air Force Aerial Port of Debarkation

As general contractor, PORR is implementing the first phase of the construction of the United States Air Force Aerial Port of Debarkation at Wrocław-Strachowice Airport in Poland. The contract value amounts to around EUR 100m (PLN 438m). The APOD is a military air logistics base for receiving and handling personnel, equipment and materials. The project is based on the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement between Poland and the U.S. The new infrastructure strengthens defense capabilities and improves the logistical and operational capabilities of the allied forces stationed in Poland. The Siemensbahn, a historic landmark of Berlin, Germany’s transport infrastructure, is being reactivated after more than 40 years of disuse. As part of the “i2030 – More Tracks for Berlin and Brandenburg” project, a modern, high-performance link between Jungfernheide and Gartenfeld is being established. Deutsche Bahn has opted for a track partnership model (“Partnerschaftsmodell Schiene”) for the implementation. Seestadt Aspern, an up-and-coming district of Vienna, Austria is where a consortium of PORR and Apleona is constructing a new building for a central vocational school. The city of Vienna has commissioned the construction of an educational facility with space for 7,500 learners.
