Rising Stars Program Launches Mentorship Alliance With New York-Based Partners
The Rising Stars Program has announced the launch of its mentorship alliance in Brooklyn, which will equip young professionals with the tools they need to succeed in the construction industry. Survey Finds 46% of Americans Plan to Dig Without Calling 811, Risking Utility Disruptions, Hazards
In observance of National Safe Digging Month in April, Common Ground Alliance has announced results from a recent national survey which found 27.2 million Americans planning digging projects in the next year will not contact 811, putting themselves and their communities at risk. Digging without knowing the location of underground utilities can lead to service outages, costly fines and repairs, and even serious injury or death. Accidentally striking gas, electric, communications, water or sewer lines can cause significant disruptions to homes and businesses. Willmeng Completes Work on Outdoor Addition to Historic Piper Writer’s House at ASU
Willmeng Construction has completed renovations of the President’s Cottage which housed Arizona State University’s presidents from 1907 to 1959. The house is now the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing. The Willmeng team led construction of a large, outdoor covered patio which provides the fondly referred to Piper Writer’s House with space to host larger gatherings, workshops and performances. The Piper Writer’s House was originally called the President’s Cottage and it served as the home for several university presidents until 1959 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
