TEMPE, Ariz. — Sundt/Stacy and Witbeck, a joint venture of Sundt Construction, Inc. and Stacy and Witbeck, has been selected to extend light rail service along Main Street in Mesa, Arizona, from Mesa Drive to Gilbert Road. The $75-million construction manager at risk project includes 1.9 miles of concrete-embedded light rail track, underground utility relocations, two new stations and roundabouts, traction power and electrification, signals and communications and a park-and-ride lot at Gilbert Road and Main Street. Chevron Corp.’s Midland Campus Project Almost Complete
Construction of Chevron Corp.’s new office campus in Midland, Texas, is almost complete, but the final months of the job are some of the busiest, says Jason Chappell, project manager for Swinerton Builders. Plans call for 500 Chevron workers to start occupying the new complex in first quarter of 2016. Skanska Modernizes, Expands School in D.C.
Skanska has signed a contract to modernize and expand the Lafayette Elementary School in Washington, D.C. The total contract value is $72 million. Lafayette Elementary School, which serves nearly 700 students, was built in the 1930s, with an addition in the 1970s. The modernization will include the restoration of the existing schoolhouse façade, the total interior renovation of the 1930’s structures, a slight enlargement of the existing parking lot, renovation of all exterior play and field surfaces, green roofs and other storm water management features to meet the latest D.C. Knutson Breaks Ground on $14.25M Health and Science Alliance Center
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Knutson Construction has been awarded the role of construction manager for the new Saint Paul College Health and Science Alliance Center project in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The HSAC will include a 39,000-square-foot addition and 5,400-square-foot renovation allowing more space for the growing health and science programs offered by Saint Paul College.
