Less than three weeks since BAM Construction and its partners began construction, NHS Nightingale Yorkshire and the Humber opened. Based in Harrogate Convention Centre, located in England, it will provide approximately 500 additional beds for coronavirus patients, if local services need them. The new facility is one of seven Nightingale hospitals to be set up around the country as part of a massive NHS effort to respond to the greatest global health emergency in more than a century. BAM Construction to Build New Mental Health Inpatient Facility in London

The Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust has appointed BAM Construction Ltd to build its new mental health inpatient facility in Highgate, north London, England. Construction of the new building, opposite the Trust’s existing Highgate Mental Health Centre, is due to begin later this year, following planning permission approval. Balfour Beatty to Deliver Healthcare Facilities in Midlands

Balfour Beatty has been awarded England’s £267-million Midland Metropolitan Hospital contract on behalf of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Having been appointed to deliver the early works contract in 2018, Balfour Beatty will now progress with the main construction works to the 80,000-square-meter hospital, including the completion of the external façade and all associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, delivered by Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick. Final Piece of Steel Installed on London’s Tallest Building

In partnership with steel contractor Severfield, Multiplex recently placed the last steel beam at 22 Bishopsgate – London, England’s tallest building. It is the culmination of over two years’ work on the project’s superstructure, which began when the first piece of steel was placed in January 2017. The final building will contain 17,023 tons of steelwork, made up of 14,593 individual pieces of steel. Placing the last piece is a major milestone toward practical completion later this year.
