A groundbreaking ceremony was held for White Plains Hospital’s (White Plains, New York) largest-ever campus transformation project: a 10-story, approximately 500,000-square-foot expansion that will nearly double the size of the hospital when it opens in 2028. The expansion will connect with the existing hospital on the main floor, emergency department and operating room levels. Western Maricopa Education Center, a career technical education school district serving students in the Phoenix, Arizona West Valley, recently broke ground on a $13.5-million expansion of its Northeast Campus. The expansion will add two new training facilities, update equipment and create more space to serve additional students. A big milestone has been reached on the $32-million expansion project at the historic Phoenix Theatre Company. Subcontractor, Rouser Concrete, completed the final concrete pour for the structural walls for the new Dr. Stacie J. and Richard J Stephenson Theatre, under construction in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Crews battled the physical and structural challenges of building in extreme summer heat, working early morning hours to avoid recorded temperatures up to 130 F in the basement area. Dubai World Trade Centre has appointed Mace to deliver Phase 1 of the £2.1-billion Dubai Exhibition Centre expansion at Expo City Dubai (UAE). Phase 1 of the expansion, set for completion by 2026, will increase the DEC’s exhibition space to 140,000 square meters, nearly two and a half times its current capacity of 58,000 square meters.
