The city of Avondale broke ground on a significant capital project that will be a showpiece at The BLVD, a new development along Avondale Boulevard in the Phoenix, Arizona suburb. City officials were joined by general contractor Willmeng Construction Inc., and J2 Engineering & Environmental Design, for a virtual groundbreaking ceremony on the new water features project. Ground Broken on Rehab Unit for West Marion Community Hospital

Ground was recently broken on West Marion Community Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation unit for Ocala Health. Located in Ocala, Florida, the nearly 44,500-square-foot, 36-bed expansion will become the hospital’s first inpatient rehabilitation unit. The unit will also feature a gym for physical and occupational therapy, as well as its own dedicated dining area. It is slated for completion in late 2022. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and Gould Turner Group is the architect.

Purdue University Breaks Ground on New Home of Bands & Orchestras at Hagle Hall

Marc and Sharon Hagle recently joined officials of Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana, for the groundbreaking ceremony of Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall, the new home of Purdue Bands & Orchestras. Approved by the Purdue Board of Trustees in December 2019, the $20-million, 37,500-square-foot, four-story facility will be built along Third Street’s Student Success Corridor, which connects student residential areas with the campus’ academic center. The facility is named for Marc and Sharon Hagle in honor of their $10 million leadership gift. STRABAG Breaks Ground for New Training Center in Austria

Construction company STRABAG recently celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for its new apprenticeship training center in Ybbs an der Donau, Austria. The company is investing a total of approximately € 10 million in the new location, which will have the capacity to train some 250 apprentices a year. After completion of the building permission application, the groundbreaking marks the start of construction as planned on the 31,000-square-meter site.
