Patients are now being cared for in the new Waipapa building at the Christchurch Hospital, located in New Zealand. The Waipapa building, formerly known as the Acute Services Building, is the largest hospital project ever delivered in New Zealand and has been constructed to stringent seismic requirements. Bouygues Bâtiment International to Build Africa’s Abomey-Calavi University Hospital

The Republic of Benin’s Ministry of Health has signed a contract with a consortium led by Bouygues Bâtiment International for the development and construction of the university hospital in Abomey-Calavi, Africa’s second largest city. Representing a total amount of €175 million, this project of more than 40,000 square meters on two levels will have a capacity of 434 beds and places. It will include six large hospitalization units. Joint-Venture Tops Out Acute Care Hospital Wing Expansion

The topping out of Orohealth’s new hospital tower, located in Oroville, California, was recently celebrated. The project team includes joint-venture partners Sundt Construction, Inc. and Modern Building, Inc., with CannonDesign serving as architect of record. The 159,751-square-foot expansion will add a five-story wing to the existing hospital and connect at the first and second floors. BAM Construction to Build New Mental Health Inpatient Facility in London

The Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust has appointed BAM Construction Ltd to build its new mental health inpatient facility in Highgate, north London, England. Construction of the new building, opposite the Trust’s existing Highgate Mental Health Centre, is due to begin later this year, following planning permission approval. Balfour Beatty to Deliver Healthcare Facilities in Midlands

Balfour Beatty has been awarded England’s £267-million Midland Metropolitan Hospital contract on behalf of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. Having been appointed to deliver the early works contract in 2018, Balfour Beatty will now progress with the main construction works to the 80,000-square-meter hospital, including the completion of the external façade and all associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, delivered by Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick.
