McLaren Construction has been appointed by O&H Properties to build the circa £60-million first phase of a Foster & Partners-designed development on the corner of New Bond Street and Grafton Street in London, England’s West End. The seven-story, 5,400-square meter prime retail and office development includes lower-ground, ground- and first-floor retail space with five stories of office and event space above. Waikeria Prison Expansion Nears Completion

CPB Contractors is delivering the design and construction of the Waikeria Prison development project, a major investment in New Zealand focusing on rehabilitation with fellow CIMIC company, Pacific Partnerships, as part of Cornerstone Infrastructure Partners delivering the public private partnership corrections project. The Waikeria facility can house 460 people, though once the new section opens, capacity will increase to house an extra 600 people with state-of-the-art facilities, including a high-tech gatehouse, onsite medical services and improved recreational and well-being areas. Bechtel Celebrates Opening of Riyadh Metro Project

The official inauguration of the Riyadh Metro network was recently celebrated. As Saudi Arabia’s first underground railway project, it is expected to initially serve 1.2 million daily passengers, with ultimately a planned maximum capacity of 3.6 million passengers daily. The project was delivered by the BACS consortium, which includes Bechtel, Almabani General Contractors, Consolidated Contractors Company and Siemens.
