Skanska has completed work on a 90,500-square-foot modernization and expansion of the historic Montlake Elementary School for Seattle Public Schools in Washington. The project included the modernization of the existing two-story, 16,500-square-foot Seattle Landmark schoolhouse and addition of a new 74,000-square-foot, three-story building housing the gym, cafeteria, kitchen, administration spaces, classrooms and library. McCarthy Completes USDA Food Safety Midwestern Laboratory

McCarthy Building Companies has joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to announce the completion of the Midwestern Laboratory in St. Louis. Following the installation of laboratory equipment in July, the facility is set to open shortly thereafter. A groundbreaking ceremony was held for White Plains Hospital’s (White Plains, New York) largest-ever campus transformation project: a 10-story, approximately 500,000-square-foot expansion that will nearly double the size of the hospital when it opens in 2028. Construction has commenced for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Northwest Division, located in North Carolina. Swinerton Builders is serving as the general contractor for the $19.7-million build. The project includes sustainable elements that create renewable energy onsite as part of Charlotte’s goal to power facilities and fleet vehicles entirely with zero-carbon sources by 2030.
