The Pittsburgh Commercial Street bridge was completed in 1951 and is now used by more than 100,000 vehicles every day. The concrete bridge went through three rehabilitations, during 1980, 2006 and 2012, but eventually needed to be replaced with a new structure that could carry permit loads. Benchmark General Contractors will break ground on Monday, Aug. 31 on Gulf Beach Condominium, a new 14-unit residential condominium building on Sanibel Island. The 28,542-square-foot development will rise two stories above parking on a single building footprint and will offer residential condominium living for full-time and seasonal residents.
