One of the nation’s largest school districts, Prince George’s County Public School System, recently opened its sixth new school as part of its “Blueprint Schools” program. Located in Fort Washington, Maryland, the Colin L. Powell K-8 Academy opened to students in November 2023, and held its ribbon cutting Feb. 21. The Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland has signed a contract for the construction of a new clinical, teaching and research building. The modern space will provide comfortable conditions for the development of a number of specialized departments and the expansion of the outpatient clinic complex. Groundbreaking was recently celebrated for a new residence hall complex for Cal Poly Humboldt, located in California, and the largest student housing project in the university’s history. The 964-bed Cal Poly Humboldt Student Housing Project will offer two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments with common lounges, study areas, conference spaces, computer and TV rooms, onsite laundry and a fitness center. Offutt Air Force Base personnel and guests recently broke ground on the new 55th security forces squadron campus located in Omaha, Nebraska.
