Astra Tower Luxury Residential High-Rise to Boost Utah Skyline, Environmental Standards upon Completion

Construction of the 40-floor Astra Tower luxury residential high-rise officially broke ground, marking a significant milestone in the history of Salt Lake City, Utah’s skyline and its downtown residential offerings. The project team includes developer Kensington Investment Company, design firm HKS and general contractor Jacobsen Construction Company. Empire State Development, a Lendlease/Turner joint venture with tvsdesign, provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The $1.5-billion project will generate millions of dollars in new economic activity for New York City, while serving as a model of environmental efficiency and sustainability. Design-Build work has been completed on the first wastewater treatment plant in Victoria, British Columbia. The McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant provides tertiary treatment for wastewater from the core area municipalities of Victoria, Esquimalt, Saanich, Oak Bay, View Royal, Langford and Colwood, and the Esquimalt and Songhees nations. Work at the facility began in 2017 by Harbour Resource Partners, a joint venture between AECOM and Graham. A joint venture led by Skanska, along with SG Contracting, Inc., has been selected to build the world’s first newly constructed Signia by Hilton hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Skanska and SG Contracting are providing preconstruction and construction management services for the more than $308-million project, which will be connected to and serve as the headquarters hotel for the Georgia World Congress Center.
