The approximately 281,000-gross-square-foot, five-story, high-performance research facility, now known as the Rob and Melani Walton Center for Planetary Health, promotes an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge generation and leading-edge research intent on improving life on the planet. Gilbane Building Company has completed the renovation and expansion of the new Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center for the City of Orlando, Florida. Gilbane partnered with Borrelli + Partners and JCB Construction to provide Design-Build services to expand and renovate an existing 1926 Mediterranean revival architecture building that originally served the community as a school. Upon recent completion of modernizations to its historic campus, Austin High School hosted its grand opening ceremony. The school is the oldest continuously operating public high school in the state of Texas. Throughout the duration of the project, it was crucial that the addition and renovations did not diminish the rich history of the campus, but rather, enhanced it.
